An early human flees her tribe, pursued by a violent warband, the Lion Men. When she is inadvertently saved by one of the last Neanderthals, the two struggle to communicate and find trust. But when the Lion Men return, they become the key to one another's survival – and the future of humanity.

Virtual Production Elements
Created entirely with Virtual Production technology, The Lion and the Firebird is the first independent film of its kind. In just under five days, the crew was able to transport our paleolithic story into 5 distinct environments that would be impossible to find around the globe or replicate in the open field.
TLAF gives us a glance at the earth's appearance during the pre-ice age paleolithic era. From an earthy march surrounded by active volcanoes to a swampy forest with mammoth carcasses, the film uses the power of In-Camera VFX(ICVFX) to transport the audience to a paleolithic era that had never been showcased before.
