Fer González

Producer, screenwriter and technologist

A very favorable picture of Fer González. He looks cool in his southwestern inspired shirt.
If you hover on the image, now Fernando is picking up a call from a very old mobile phone from the 90s.
Fernando González Ortiz is a U.S.-based Mexican producer, born and raised in Caborca, the pearl of the Sonoran Desert. He graduated from Columbia University's film program with an MFA in Creative Producing.

His passion for technology allowed him to travel in time to film a paleolithic action-adventure short film titled The Lion and the Firebird. It was the first independently produced student film to leverage real-time virtual production on an LED stage. The film has been selected for top genre festivals such as Screamfest, Filmquest, and Atlanta Horror Film Festival.

Fernando's other films tackle diversity, identity, and the Latine experience. His work in genre and Latine films poses the question, "How can we imagine a better future through laughter, scares, and hope?"

His most recent work includes The Devil on Screen, a satirical fantasy short film in which the devil tries to win a bet against God by corrupting society with the invention of the first social media website.

By day, Fernando is a film executive assistant and an independent producer developing genre films. By night, you can find him role-playing in a Dungeons and Dragons game or immersed in the latest video game.

He is a BAFTA Newcomer, a Fulbright Alumni, and a CONACYT-Cultura Scholarship recipient. Additionally, he has won a couple of online multiplayer matches in his lifetime.
